- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
📝 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic.
- Stir well until combined and set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the Chicken
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add chicken thighs and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
3️⃣ Make the Sauce
- In the same pan, pour in the prepared teriyaki sauce and bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl, then stir it into the sauce.
- Let it cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
4️⃣ Coat the Chicken & Serve
- Return the cooked chicken thighs to the pan, coating them in the sauce.
- Simmer for another 2 minutes, turning the chicken to glaze evenly.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
