Cooking rice in an Instant Pot is quick, easy, and ensures perfectly fluffy grains every time. Follow this guide for perfect Instant Pot rice using different types of rice.




Ingredients:

For White Rice (Jasmine or Basmati)

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)

For Brown Rice

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1¼ cups water
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)

For Sticky Rice (Short-Grain or Sushi Rice)

  • 1 cup sticky rice
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)

Instructions:

1️⃣ Rinse the Rice

  • Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents clumping.

2️⃣ Add to the Instant Pot

  • Place the rinsed rice and the correct amount of water into the Instant Pot. Add salt if desired.

3️⃣ Set Cooking Mode & Time

  • White Rice: Pressure Cook on Low Pressure for 3 minutes, then natural release for 10 minutes.
  • Brown Rice: Pressure Cook on High Pressure for 20 minutes, then natural release for 10 minutes.
  • Sticky Rice: Pressure Cook on Low Pressure for 12 minutes, then quick release.

4️⃣ Fluff & Serve

  • Open the lid, fluff the rice with a fork, and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
